Retirement, elusive dream... For years I longed for you. So many plans I had for us; So many things to do.
But slowly as the years went by I thought we'd never see That long awaited dream come true; It was not meant to be.
And then that glorious day arrived When routine cares were shed.
There's no alarm to startle me; I linger in my bed.
Ah, coffee tastes much better now
Amidst the morning breeze! And in due time I'm free to do Exactly as I please.
The sun now has a different glow While setting in the sky, And fragrant roses call to me Each time I them by.
